Increasingly, the scale of the challenge of climate change mitigation and adaptation is directly linked to land use-planning decisions, which by their nature demand a regional approach. It is a challenge that state and local governments are increasingly required to meet, as long as we continue to more generally see a lack of national government leadership on climate policy.
The Commonwealth Science Conference 2017 held in Singapore recently was organised by Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF) and Britain’s Royal Society. One of the speakers was CURF Director Professor Barbara Norman.
Author and national TV personality Indira Naidoo has a strong interest in the role global environmental issues play in conflict, poverty and food security. She believes that gardens are the best vehicle for people to connect and make a positive impact on the environment and society.
