Our 'tree-change' and 'sea-change' dreams are under threat as scientists warn about building homes in 'risky areas'
As part of the present national discussion regarding adaptation and recovery policy following the recent and still unfolding Australian bushfire tragedies, the findings and recommendations of this 2013 National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF) report have been given renewed focus.

A federal government plan to prepare for the dire effects of climate change-related natural disasters was left to gather dust in the Department of Home Affairs for 1½ years before catastrophic bushfires hit last month.
