Cycle Tourism for Capital Region
State/Territory: ACT

This project has explored aspects of Cycle Tourism across Southern NSW from the Southern Highlands through Goulburn and Canberra and into the Snowy Mountains. It has explored Mountain Biking, Road and Track racing, Recreational touring and BMX cycling. The report includes some key data on cycling generally and provides details of an audit of existing cycling events, facilities and infrastructure across the Region. An online survey has been carried out of a cross section of cycle tourists visiting the Region through the 2010 calendar year, exploring their cycling activities and future needs. Recommendations are made to provide a framework and action plan for a Cycle Tourism Strategy for the Capital Region.
